Arthur Santos + Layssa Liebscher / Professional Zouk Instructors and Dancers / Brazil
Brazilian zouk is a partner dance originating from Brazil. The first style known, as zouk-lambada, proudly proclaims itself as a descendent of lambada. This dance has branched off into a variety of styles including modern-zouk also known as rio-zouk which integrates modern and contemporary dance. Brazilian zouk is characterized by the dancers’ fluidity in their water-like movements and the girls' flowing hair. Depending on the style of Brazilian zouk, you can see a close connection embrace and long graceful steps, strong hip movements, body isolations and upper-body torsions, wild spins and whip-like head movements. While the dance is often called sensual, it is not necessarily sexual or to be taken in a negative context. This sensuality is a reflection of vulnerability to truly connect with another human being in a moment of unique oneness. Such an intimate and pure expression through the versatile power of zouk. It is so versatile that it is danced by people across the world in many demographics who gather such places as studios, night clubs, and even in their own homes.

The Priceless Movement is firmly invested in the connection, healthy sensuality, and trust building movement and energies, unique to and powerfully exchanged within the style of Brazilian Zouk. For these purposes, Zouk has been elected as our focus style, and will be the foundation from which all programming, including future performance teams, workshops, empowerment socials, and events will flow. We believe that so many individuals, both who currently dance as well as have yet to discover it, will derive strength, self-love and appreciation, healing, and the ability to connect with others, in the face of significant traumas and scars, both physical and emotional.
While the intensive therapy elements involved in our Dance Empowerment Focus Program are yet in development, we are moving forward, powerfully and prominently, in networking, theme and brand development, and partnerships to deliver a powerful and new kind of experience in connection and movement, merging sensuality, healing, recovery, and above all, unity.
For our Team Agents, it flows from the heart. We are invested in the power of dance, in Brazilian Zouk, in DEUS EX DEA, not only as a program, but a literal component of greater faith that empowerment, strength, and victory are only birthed in atmosphere where there exists the grace to fall, to misstep, to be off count, to not strive for even one more moment of one’s life to be the “top performer” or “the most beautiful dancer”, but to simply and finally be.
“Out Of God, Goddesses”. The ideology that out of something more divine, we emerge; and that is welcome, and beautiful. The ideology that men, faced with patriarchal demands of our culture, can become beings of love, divinity, and respect women, facing the oppressive natures of our culture, and raise, support, and edify women as beautiful, spiritually divine, and absolute equals, recognized as the Goddesses they are. Out of Gods, Goddesses.
